Raymond P. Dolan
President and Chief Executive Officer
Raymond ("Ray") Dolan is President and Chief Executive Officer of Sonus Networks. Previously, Ray served as Chief Executive Officer of QUALCOMM/Flarion Technologies, a developer of mobile broadband communications technologies, as well as Senior Vice President of QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM). Prior to its acquisition by QUALCOMM in 2006, Ray served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Flarion. From 1996 to 2000, he was Chief Operating Officer of NextWave Telecom. Prior to that, he spent eight years at BellAtlantic/NYNEX Mobile, serving in numerous roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as Executive Vice President of Marketing. Ray began his career in the telecommunications industry at PacTel Cellular as a Manager of Network Operations. He served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, where he spent more than seven years as a tactical jet pilot. Ray graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and also holds an M.B.A. degree from the Columbia University School of Business. Ray currently serves on the Board of Directors of American Tower Corporation (NYSE: AMT).
Rajiv Laroia
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Rajiv Laroia is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Sonus Networks. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Technology at Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM). Prior to that, he was the founder and CTO of Flarion Technologies, which was acquired by Qualcomm in January of 2006. Before launching Flarion, Rajiv had been with Lucent Technologies Bell Laboratories since 1992 when he joined the prestigious Mathematical Sciences Research Center. In 1997, he became head of Bell Labs' Digital Communications Research Department in the Wireless Research Center.
Rajiv has a very broad background that spans wireless communication networks, data transmission, information theory, VLSI design and architecture, analog mixed-signal and RF circuit design, high-speed AD/DA data converters, speech image and video compression. At Flarion, Rajiv and his team designed the first OFDM-based, all-IP, mobile wireless data system. He is an expert in OFDMA, CDMA, TDMA and other cellular multiple access technologies and is intimately familiar with both current and next-generation wireless standards.
Rajiv received his Ph.D. and Master's degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, all in electrical engineering. His thesis also contributed to V.34, the ITU voice-band modem international standard. He has over 100 issued patents and more than 200 pending. Rajiv has won numerous industry awards. He was inducted to the Innovations Hall of Fame, University of Maryland, College Park, in 2006. In 2007 he received the IIT Delhi Distinguished Alumni Award. Rajiv is a Fellow of the IEEE.
Todd Abbott
Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing
Todd Abbott is Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing responsible for the Sonus global sales force, marketing and channel partnerships. With over 28 years of sales experience in the computer and networking industries, he brings to Sonus a depth of knowledge in selling to business enterprises across a wide variety of vertical industries and global territories. In addition, Todd leads corporate marketing, aligning all go-to-market strategies for Sonus solutions worldwide. Todd has led large sales, channel, marketing and service organizations and has lived in and managed businesses in both Asia and Europe. Prior to joining Sonus Networks in 2011, Todd served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Avaya, where he was instrumental in implementing their go-to-market strategy. Previously, Todd was Seagate's Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, and Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Symbol Technologies. He held positions of increasing responsibility at Cisco, including Group Vice President of Service Providers in Europe and Vice President of South Asia. He also served in various sales and sales management positions at IBM. Todd holds a B.S. degree from Northeastern University with a double major in Finance and Marketing.
Jeffrey M. Snider
Senior Vice President and General Counsel
As Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Jeff Snider is responsible for managing the legal department, including commercial transactions, intellectual property, litigation, ethics and business compliance across Sonus locations worldwide. With over twenty years of experience, including the last thirteen years as general counsel within public and privately traded companies, Jeff strengthens the leadership team with proven success in identifying strategies that enable the achievement of corporate and operational objectives. Prior to joining Sonus in 2009, Jeff served in a dual legal and operating role as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Bankruptcy Management Solutions, Inc., a provider of hardware, software and services to the bankruptcy industry. From 2003 to 2006, Jeff was the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Geac Computer Corporation, Ltd., a global software and services provider. Prior to Geac, Jeff was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Lycos, Inc., where he was part of the original management team that built the company from a start-up search engine to an industry-leading Internet conglomerate. Prior to his in-house career, Jeff was a partner at the Boston law firm of Hutchins & Wheeler. Jeff served as a Director on the Board of the New England Legal Foundation from 2001 to 2009, and was a Trustee of the Boston Bar Foundation from 2003 to 2007. Jeff is a graduate of Amherst College and the University of Virginia School of Law.
Maurice "Moe" Castonguay
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Moe Castonguay is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sonus Networks. He brings over 30 years of High Tech experience, as well as 20 years as a CFO to the Company. Moe previously worked for BigBand Networks from March 2008 to April 2010. Prior to that, from November 2006 to September 2007, he worked for Acopia Networks, Inc. which was acquired by F5 Networks, Inc. Prior to that, from March 2006 to September 2006, he worked for Broadbus Technologies which was acquired by Motorola, Inc. He also was CFO of MatrixOne, Inc. from January 1999 to August 2004, which he took public in March of 2000. He also was CFO of Stratus Computer, Inc. from August 1997 to December 1998 when they were acquired by Ascend Communications, Inc. He also served as CFO for a number of other privately held and publicly-traded companies. He also served on the Boards of Cedar Point Communications, Inc from March 2005 to February 2010 and Media100, Inc. from February 1997 to November 2004. Moe is a Certified Public Accountant. He received a B.S. in Accounting and M.S. in Taxation from Bentley College as well as an M.B.A. degree from Babson College.
Matt Dillon
Senior Vice President, Global Services
As Senior Vice President of Global Services, Matt Dillon oversees all customer service functions, including TAC and field support, as well as the network design, performance analysis, technical publications and technical training teams. Matt has over thirty years of customer service leadership experience. Prior to joining Sonus in 2001, he was a founding member of Boston Technology (later purchased by Comverse) which created the de-facto standard in scalable, central, office-based voicemail platforms for Bell Atlantic. Initially responsible for alpha product platform design, deployment and support, Matt also opened support presence markets for the expanding customer base of RBOC and service providers across the US, EMEA and Asia-Pacific. Matt started his communications career at Fisk Telephone (later purchased by Centel) as a field engineer and over the years held a variety of positions, including contracts manager and regional branch manager.
Kathy Harris
Vice President, Human Resources
Kathy Harris is the Vice President, Human Resources at Sonus Networks. Bringing more than 20 years experience to Sonus, Kathy is responsible for the management and development of Sonus' greatest assets. Since joining Sonus in 2007, Kathy has strategically aligned the HR organization to support the overall business plan and continues to develop and lead programs that deliver the talent, training and appropriate compensations that empower employees to achieve the company's business goals. Prior to joining Sonus, Kathy held the position of vice president, HR at Lightbridge where she managed the integration of several acquisitions, instigated a culture change initiative and introduced automated performance management systems to drive greater efficiency through the organization. Prior to Lightbridge Kathy was vice president, HR at Trend-Lines, Inc., where her team provided HR services to over 1600 employees and successfully introduced an effective educational program to provide employees with standards above those provided by union action. Kathy Harris holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science degree in Government from Suffolk University, Boston. Kathy is a member of the Human Resources Leadership Forum, Society for Human Resources Management and the Northeast Human Resources Association.
Tony Scarfo
Vice President, Business Development
As Vice President of Business Development, Tony Scarfo drives strategic relationships and global growth with Sonus partners. Tony has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry supporting Service Providers in developing and implementing voice, video, access, wireless, optical, and data networks around the world. He was previously the Vice President of Global Service Providers and System Integrators at Polycom Inc. where he was responsible for developing Polycom's Cloud strategy to deploy video and voice infrastructure for Managed and Hosted Unified communications services. He was responsible for developing and selling integrated solutions with partners such as Microsoft, Avaya, IBM, Juniper, and Broadsoft. Tony was formerly the Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Global Channels at ECI Telecom where he led the development of a multi-faceted business strategy and developed a partner program with strategic and OEM partners. Prior to ECI, he served as Vice President of Global Alliances and Partnerships at Juniper Networks. Tony joined Juniper through its acquisition of Unisphere Networks, where he was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Tony has also held numerous leadership positions at Lucent and AT&T. He received a BS in computer information systems from Manhattan College and an MBA from Seton Hall University.
Bill Scudder
Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Bill Scudder is the Vice President and CIO at Sonus Networks. Bringing more than 20 years of business and IT experience to Sonus, Bill is responsible for extending Sonus's operational excellence, and driving technological innovations to meet the current and future needs of the business. As Sonus is the world's leading provider of VoIP solutions, Bill is also transforming how the Sonus enterprise communicates and collaborates internally using Sonus' own solutions and effectively controlling its telecom spend at the same time.
Prior to joining Sonus, Bill held the position of Sr. Director at EMC, leading IT for the RSA Security Division after its 2006 acquisition. Bill helped to lead the organizational and IT integration of the two companies, and during that time he championed and led initiatives to transition to cloud computing and modernize business processes. He was also responsible for several large systems implementations, including solutions for global ERP, CRM, HR self-service, customer care, analytics, channel readiness and software licensing and distribution. Prior to that, Bill held various IT executive positions at Smith & Nephew, a global manufacturer of medical devices and consumer healthcare products where his responsibilities included building out a global voice and data network to serve over 10,000 employees in 32 countries.
Bill holds a Masters in Business Administration from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Bill is a member of the CIO Forum and the Society for Information Management.
David Tipping
Vice President and General Manager of the SBC Business Unit
David Tipping is Vice President and General Manager of the SBC Business Unit at Sonus Networks Inc. He is responsible for driving market relevant innovation across Sonus' SBC product line, and ensuring timely, effective delivery of these products into Sonus' global markets. Prior to assuming this position, David was the Vice President of World Wide System Engineering for Sonus Networks. From 1996 to 2000 David was a Senior Systems Engineer at Enterasys/Cabletron Systems supporting customers in the Mid-West and New England areas.
Uma Reddy
Vice President and General Manager, Sonus India
Uma is responsible for leading Sonus's Bangalore team with a focus on driving productivity across the major programs they support, as well as aligning the team's activities with the company's global development efforts. He also participates in the development of Sonus's overall technology roadmap and "go to market" strategies.
A veteran of Sonus Networks, Uma returned to the company from Verivue, which he co-founded and where he developed the high-level product architecture and filed several patents. Prior to that, he served as Director of Software Engineering at NetDevices , responsible for components of the SG Family Services Gateway. Before joining NetDevices, Uma worked at Sonus Networks for over six years, leading development of the softswitch component of Sonus's VoIP solution, including the PSX Policy Server, and contributed to IMS and FMC initiatives. Uma later joined the Office of the CTO at Sonus.
Uma received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Madras University, India and a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Alabama.
Nancy M. Maluso
Vice President and General Manager, Communications Applications Solutions
Nancy is VP and GM of the Communications Applications Solutions Division at Sonus Networks. Prior to joining Sonus Networks in the fall of 2011, Nancy Maluso spent 10 highly engaging years at Avaya holding roles that include: Area VP in Sales, Dir New Business Development for Global Managed Services, Senior Director Global Sales Enablement and most recently VP Unified Communications Marketing. Prior to Avaya, Nancy launched and managed a business providing ASP and outsourcing services to e-businesses. As an early creator of Cloud computing solutions she is very familiar with the pros and cons of these types of delivery models. Nancy has over fifteen years of experience in the service, sales and marketing of computer systems, networks and telecommunications equipment. She has worked on re-engineering call centers and developing solution strategies for products and manufacturers alike. She has a BS in Computer Science and a Wharton MBA. She is a strong customer advocate and is focused on improving customers businesses through the use of effective communications.
