Company Mission

Target Markets
Sonus Networks targets the carrier market, as well as, traditional and emerging communications service providers, including:

- Cable operators
- International telephone companies

Products
Carrying billions of IP-voice minutes-per-month, Sonus products perform time and time again in demanding, large-scale wireless and wireline carrier environments. Sonus' product line consists of complete infrastructure solutions for delivering IP-voice and multimedia services, including basic and enhanced Voice over BroadBand (VoBB) residential and business services, trunking, tandem switching and Network Border Switching. Our products are built on the same IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture defined by the Third Generation Partnership (3GPP) program. The IMS architecture is being accepted by network operators worldwide as the industry standard for building converged voice, data, wireline and wireless networks. Based primarily on Internet Protocol (IP) packets and the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), the IMS architecture has been the foundation of our products since our inception in 1997.
Network operators require a cost-efficient system that enables new revenue-generating services, while at the same time, offer exceptional quality and reliability to their customers. Sonus products are designed to meet the following requirements:
- IMS-ready architecture
- Carrier-class performance
- Compatibility with standards and existing infrastructure
- Scalability and density
- Intelligent software in an open and flexible platform
- Simple and rapid installation, deployment and support
- Verified interoperability with third-party vendors, over 150 industry-wide solutions tested to date
With the IMS industry standard built in, Sonus products provide a single core for deploying advanced services across wireless (CDMA, 2GSM, 3GSM, WiMAX, Wi-Fi) or wireline (xDSL, cable) networks.
For more information, see the Sonus IMS architecture.
