Insight EMS Advantages

Seamless system integration: Based on ITU TMN architectural guidelines, the Insight EMS provides a robust management foundation to ensure scalability, reliability, and rapid system integration. Through open and programmable interfaces, carriers can integrate Next Gen packet voice capabilities with flow-through provisioning and service assurance systems. An easy-to-use Java API automates tasks, such as switch provisioning, routing and subscriber management. The API can also be integrated into CORBA environments using Java IDL and the IIOP protocol. To meet the needs of an established OSS, Sonus also provides a telnet-based Command Line Interface (CLI) with the same functionality as the Java API.

With the Insight EMS, alarms can be forwarded to SNMP managers such as Micromuse Netcool® and HP OpenView™. For capacity planning, the EMS stores all the inventory and performance data for the entire Sonus voice solution. Data can be exported to an external system via SQL as well as ASCII flat files. This flexibility allows the EMS to integrate with both proprietary management systems as well as industry-leading products such as the Acterna Capacity Manager™ and OSI NETeXPERT¨.

Sonus has established a close relationship with Telcordia Technologies to satisfy the needs of the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs). By participating in the OSMINE process, Sonus has ensured that the OSA can be integrated into many of the world's largest networks. The EMS also supports operational support systems such as TIRKS®, NMA®, NPM®, NCM® and MARCH®.
